Department of commerce and Management started its journey in the year 1971. Since inception, the department has witnessed unprecedented progress and at present, it is imparting quality education to about 1600 students. Besides conventional B. Com. (Pass course) and M. Com., it also offers B.Com. (Hons.) and B.B.A. courses. The Department has an experienced and dedicated faculty which works hard to bring out the best out of students. Every year, our students make us proud with outstanding results in university examinations. There is a well stocked departmental library with sufficient number of books to fulfill the needs of financially weaker students. We not only strive for academic excellence but also focus on multifaceted development of our students and organize various co- curricular activities on regular basis. Not only this, to nurture their rational thinking, group discussions, debates and industrial visits are organized from time to time. Our thrust is to make the students well versed with various aspects of commerce so that they succeed in their professional lives. Good infrastructure is department’s another pride. We have well equipped seminar hall with adequate seating capacity. The classrooms are well ventilated and spacious. Three fully equipped computer labs enable our students to follow learning by doing approach.

On January 25, 2020 Simran of B.COM 3rd year got third position in Essay writing Competition, Sakshi B.COM 3rd year got third position in Rangoli Making Competition and Shruti B.COM 3rd year also got third position in Declamation Competition in District Selection Program held at panipat
On February 3rd, 2020 Nimesh Goel got first position and Tanu Goel got third position in Waste Management, Sidharth, shimpi,keshav, tamana, ginnie got second position and a cash prize of Rs. 2000, Shruti got first position , Simran got second position with cash prize in Poetry Recitation and Pooja got third position in Poster making competition held at PIET College, Samalkha.
On February 5, 2020 Divya of B.B.A 3rd year (Vth Semester) secure 553 out of 700 and got Second Position and Shruti of B.B.A 3rd year (Vth Semester) secure 550 out of 700 and got 4th position in the university.
On February 5, 2020 Shruti of B.B.A final year got first position and Simran of B.COM Final year got the consolation prize in State Level Speech Competition organised by Haryana State Cooperative Development Limited (HRKOFED) Panchkula in Arya PG College, Panipat
Business Plan & AD-MAD Show competition on 11th February, 2020. About 80 students participated in this competition.
A seminar on “Entrepreneurship Awareness” in collaboration with Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India, MSME DI, Karnal to provide a platform for students to develop entrepreneur mind set and to learn the schemes of Ministry of MSME and start ups on 4th March 2020.
National Level Competition “UDAAN 2020. The events were Business Plan, AD-MAD Show, Waste Management & essay writing on 6th March, 2020. Approx. 30 Colleges participated in this competition.
Session 2018-2019
On the Occasion of Teej and Independence day, Mehndi, Painting and Hand Painting Competitions were organized on 11th August, 2018, around 70 students participated and made the show spectacular.
“Commerce Fest” was organized on September 1st, 2018 in which around 35 students were shortlisted for having different talents like Singing, Dancing, Mimicry etc.
Guest lecture on “Investor’s Awareness” was organized on 3rd October, 2018. Sh. Binni Rathi, Head of Max Life Insurance, Panipat was the keynote speaker.
A guest lecture on “Personality Department” was organized to bring overall shine in the student’s personality, in February, 2019.
Vijender Jangra, HR Manager from “The Shivalika Rugs” interacted with the students of final year and guided them about the career options available after graduation in different companies on 15th April, 2019.
Session 2017-2018
Inter-department Fest “UTSAV” was organized in the seminar hall on 18th September, 2017, wherein competitions like Rangoli, Clay Modelling, poster making, Collage making, Cartooning were held.
Students of the Department participated in various events like Declamation, Rangoli, Quiz, Singing, On-the-spot painting, Essay writing Competition etc. organized by different institutions from time to time. The students not only participated enthusiastically, but also won many prizes.
An invited talk by Dr. Tejinder Sharma (Deptt. of Commerce, Kurukshetra University) was organized on the topic “TRANSFORMING MANAGEMENT IN GLOBAL ERA”.
