“Museums are places of worship for those whose faith dwells in human stories”
Keeping this maxim in mind, a beautiful museum, one of the rare achievements of the Department of History, was inaugurated by the President of the Management, Sh. K.C. Nagpal on 22nd November 2011 for the students of History.
The former Principal of Arya College and a renowned Scholar of History, Dr. K.L. Miglani commuted on this occasion. “Museum is a mirror that reflects the regional and national culture”.
This museum presents a glimpse of Indian history and culture through paintings, pictures, photographs and artifacts. The archaeological material of Harappan period, old coins, the Ramayana Scenes of 5th Century, a painting of Shri Krishna (6th Century) carrying ‘Govardhan Parvat’ are mesmerizing. Some medieval pictures in the museum help in understanding the medieval thought and philosophy. One of the walls of the museum is wholly devoted to the pictures of the historical places of Panipat. Another wall is full of pictures that present different streams of the national movement. Some of the artifacts represent the traditional life style of Haryana which is on the verge of extinction, e.g. Kerosene Lamp, Spinning Wool, hand Grinding Mill etc. Besides these articles, the museum has many other rare artifacts that transport us to another world and another times.
