In order to fulfill the dreams and vision of the founders of the college, the Department of Chemistry is engaged in providing highest level of quality teaching of the subject to the undergraduate students of the college. The chief mission of the department is to produce human resource of excellent quality with high professional competence and excelling in Chemistry. The department comprises of a goal oriented group of highly qualified, dynamic and experienced faculty members. They are actively engaged in research in their frontier areas of interest, and have published many research papers in the journals of national and international repute. The department has three independent laboratories, equipped with state of the art instruments known and required to carry out modern day practical chemistry. The department of chemistry, along with other sister departments of the faculty of science has produced many of the country’s leading academic educators, administrators, policymakers, medical and engineering professionals. The pioneering works of the former and current faculty members of the department have contributed a lot in order to bring the department to its zenith. The faculty members have established departmental library for economical weaker students of the college.

Dr. Mohd. Isaq delivered a lecture on the importance of National Science Day (28/02/2020) and elaborated about the life history and important observations of Dr. C.V. Raman.
Corona Virus Awareness Program was organized by Women Cell and Legal Literacy Cell on the occasion of International Women’s Day (08/03/2020). On this occasion, a talk was delivered by Dr. Vikram Kumar, Department of Chemistry.
Online National Level Quiz Competition on Covid -19 was organized in which 1200 students participated across the country on May 26, 2020.

After being Awarded Two Years Teacher Fellowship for carrying out Ph.D., Dr. Vikram Kumar successfully completed his Ph.D. on 28.02.2020.

Our students got second position in district level science Quiz Contest held at Arya PG College, Panipat on 25th September 2018.
On the eve of world students day (marking the birthday of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, ex president of India on 15th October), our department organized essay writing and poster making competition on 15th October 2018.
After qualifying the district level essay writing competition, our students participated in state level essay writing competition of the Haryana State Council for Science and Technology in the session 2018-19 organized by University College, Kurukshetra on 23rd January 2019.
Students of chemistry department presented a working model on the topic “Application of DNA fingerprinting Technique in detection of Genetic Disorders” in science exhibition organized by Haryana State Council for Science and Technology and Department of Science and Technology Haryana Government at Pt. Chiranji Lal Sharma Government PG College, Karnal on 15 February 2019.
Chemical Association of Chemistry Department organized collage making, poster making and essay writing competition on 11th October 2017.
Our two teams qualified Zonal Level Science Quiz and one of our team secured second position in state level science quiz competition (organized by Haryana State Council for Science and Technology, Panchukla) and was awarded with the prize of Rs. 30,000. The competition was held in NDRI, Karnal on 31st October 2017.
Students of Chemistry Department secured third position in science exhibition organized by Haryana State Council for Science and Technology, under Department of Science and Technology, Haryana at Desh Bandhu Gupta Government College Panipat on 24th January 2018. The title of the model was “A novel approach for preparation of biodegradable plastic”.
Our students qualified district level essay writing competition and participated in state level essay writing competition held in MDU Rohtak on 23rd January, 2018.
