“Without historical interpretations we are brutes without even a sense of our own identities. With them, we are human.”-Regmond Martin

The contribution of the subject of History unique not only in realization of the self identity of man, society and nation but also in imparting liveliness to culture with scientific temper. On the one hand, the subject provides foundation for social progress and on the other, it makes man not a prisoner of past but shows him the direction for future. It shapes his present, in the light of historical knowledge. Keeping this objective in mind, the History department of the college is progressing with full zeal. The teachers of the department are devoted and capable in teaching, explaining and highlighting the importance of the subject. The museum of historical artifacts is an outstanding achievement of the department. Established in 2011, it imparts liveliness to the teaching of the subject. Haryanvi culture has been presented in this Museum along with a glimpse of ancient, medieval history of India and freedom movement. Moreover, the account of historical monuments of Panipat has been presented with their beautiful photographs. Archeological remains of Harappan times and coins of various periods add to the beauty of the Museum. In short, this Museum is not only a centre of attraction for the students of history but also for the students of other subjects and dignitaries visiting the college. To make the teaching of history innovative, interesting and effective; the modern techniques of PowerPoint presentation etc. are also often used. To keep the students interested and involved, group discussions on various aspects of history and lectures from distinguished scholars are arranged from time to time.
