Political science is a social science which deals with systems of governance and the analysis of political activities, political thoughts and political behavior. Study of the subject opens up multiple opportunities for political science graduates. Students can choose from diverse fields available, like civil services, law journalism, print and electronic media, entrepreneurship, teaching and research etc. for advancing one’s career. The department of political science was presently has more than 500 students enrolled in the general course.
Department conducts classes according to the syllabus provided by the Kurukshetra University. Informative lectures along with ample study materials are provided by the faculty members to the students, which has helped the department to maintain a consistent record of academic success over the years. Students in the department are encouraged to pursue higher study to enhance their knowledge and compete in various National and state level competitive examinations. With this aim in mind, the political science department organizes class lectures along with inter-disciplinary classes, interactive sessions, use of political maps, discussion on current affairs etc. through which the students can get a broader perspective of the latest socio-political developments.
