Music directly affects our lives and forms the integral part of our culture. It is a wonderful art and its healing effects have been now scientifically proved. Probably the art is as old as the human beings are. Department of Music of our college feels proud to look at more than 60 years of effectuating the strategies of adapting our classical music from the traditional Gurukul system to that of the university system. The hidden and raw talents of our students are polished and refined with the sustained efforts of the talented and devoted faculty.
The department started with a modest batch of 2 students in vocal and instrumental music, since then it has flourished with improved intake. With the passage of time, music department is working with the aim of overall development of students and emphasis is given on imparting quality practical education. The alumni of our department are working tirelessly to promote music as teachers and professors in different institutions and as acclaimed artists, in India and abroad. Our students have proved their worth in various competitions organized by different organizations.
