The aim of the Department of Economics is to develop young minds in the field of Economics by providing them the opportunity to interact with qualified and competent faculty. The faculty members have themselves shown keen interest in economic issues of academic and public interest. The teaching programs in the department are focused on proper blending of quality and relevance. This is sought to be achieved by periodic updating of syllabi as per guidelines from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra in conformity with the advancement of the knowledge in Economics. Many meritorious students after graduation with economics from this college and then completing their post-graduation in Economics from various prestigious universities are well settled in academic and administrative spheres. The students of Economics are inspired not only to do well in their course work but are also motivated to understand the larger economic picture of the major countries of the world. The emphasis is on innovative teaching strategies that provide experiential learning through project work, field work and case studies which impart knowledge and skills to the students.
